Early Childhood Educator

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team of 3 Educators. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and creativity.
• Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians on their development.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to create a cohesive learning experience for children.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom space conducive to learning.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of early childhood education best practices.

Requirements

• Valid Early Childhood Education Certificate
• First Aid Certification
• Strong understanding of child development principles, early childhood education practices and the BC Early Learning Framework.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative in individual responsibilities.
• 2+ years experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Port Coquitlam, BC V3B 5J8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
