Role Overview
The Vice President of Sales, UK will lead the commercial agenda for a £1B+ FMCG business, owning national revenue, profit delivery, and customer strategy across all channels. This executive will shape the long-term growth strategy while driving flawless execution with major retailers, wholesalers, and emerging channels. The role requires a transformative commercial leader with deep UK retail expertise, strong strategic capability, and a proven ability to build high-performing, customer-centric teams.
Key Responsibilities \ Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute the UK sales strategy to achieve revenue, market share, and profitability targets.
Shape the annual commercial plan, including pricing, trade investment, promotional strategy, and channel development.
Lead business transformation initiatives to strengthen competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving FMCG landscape.
Provide thought leadership on category trends, customer behaviours, and future commercial opportunities.
Customer & Channel Management
Own senior-level relationships with key UK customers
Negotiate annual joint business plans, trade terms, and strategic partnerships.
Drive commercial excellence across all channels, ensuring consistent execution and brand presence.
Expand presence in high-growth channels including e-commerce, on-trade, and direct-to-consumer.
Lead, mentor, and develop a large UK sales organisation, including national account teams, field sales, and revenue management.
Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture with clear accountability and capability development.
Build future-ready talent pipelines and ensure organisational agility.
P&L & Commercial Performance
Take full ownership of UK sales P&L, ensuring strong ROI on trade spend and promotional investments.
Implement revenue growth management (RGM) frameworks covering pricing, pack architecture, mix, and promo optimisation.
Monitor performance through robust KPIs and provide accurate commercial forecasts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Category, and Operations to ensure alignment on portfolio strategy, innovation launches, and customer execution.
Champion the voice of the customer within the UK leadership team and across the wider group.
Skills & Experience Required
15+ years’ commercial experience in FMCG with significant leadership responsibilities.
Proven success running or significantly contributing to a £500M–£1B+ commercial business.
Deep understanding of UK retail and shopper landscape, including top-4 multiples, discounters, and e-commerce.
Strong P&L ownership experience and command of revenue growth management levers.
Exceptional negotiation, relationship management, and strategic planning skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and drive cultural transformation.
Preferred
Experience leading multi-category or multi-brand portfolios.
Background in global or matrixed organisations with complex stakeholder management.
