*Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description (Full-Time)*
Reporting to the Special Education Coordinator, the Speech-Language Pathologist will support the needs of diverse learners by providing speech and language services. Speech-Language Pathologists support the implementation of students’ Individual Education Programs (IEP) by providing direct services, evaluation and caseload management. Speech-Language Pathologists serve as members of the Academic Behavioral and Intervention Team (ABIT) as needed, and provide speech intervention when appropriate. Speech-Language Pathologists are part of the Special Education team, and may be assigned other duties by the special education coordinator or school principal.
*Scope of Responsibility: *
_Special Education and IEPs_
* Provide direct services to students who qualify for speech therapy, both as a related service and as a primary exceptionality
* Act as caseload manager for students with SLI classifications, taking ownership of all documentation and filing
* Maintain accurate student service logs, and complete quarterly progress reports for caseload of students
* Coordinating with teachers to support the needs of caseload students
* Write annual speech and language IEP goals, and participate in IEP meetings, as needed
* Consulting with the Special Education Coordinator regarding opportunities to incorporate speech and language strategies in classroom settings
* Conduct speech screenings and provide speech interventions to students
* Taking on other tasks, as needed
_Knowledge and Skills: _
* Knowledge and ability to assess students for communication disorders and determine eligibility for services using various assessment tools.
* Ability to plan and provide appropriate individual and group goals contained in Individual Education Plan (IEP) and collaborate with general educators, special educators, and interventionists in order to plan and implement classroom-based activities to improve communication skills.
* Develop and provide district wide training to school personnel and parents in the identification and understanding of students with communication disorders.
* Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
*Required Skills and Qualifications: *
* Have a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in speech pathology, as specified under Speech Pathology guidelines and/or speech communication disorders
* Remain knowledgeable of current trends, federal and state regulations in the field of speech-language pathology and special education to ensure competency
* Keep certifications and licensure current , CCC-SLP
* Ability to travel between school sites
* Prior clinical or school-based experience providing speech therapy to students, preferably in a school serving low-income families
* Demonstrated ability to work well in a team
* Strong project management and organizational skills
* Strong communication skills
* A professional demeanor and a desire to have fun while working hard

Pay: From $57,000.00 per year
