About

About the role At Terra, we aim to be the infrastructure for health data and products alike. To do this, we need world-class engineers capable of designing systems from first principles, writing efficient, extensible, and readable code to build products for our customers. You will be working closely with our sales and engineering team to: Build, design, and manage backend systems across their lifecycle Ensure a high quality standard for the code base Design APIs and SDKs to ensure developers or customers have a smooth experience Securely store, process, and design around one of the most sensitive and difficult data to handle at volume (Optional) Play a part in making sure no one commits to main without a code review! We currently use AWS and GCP along with programming languages such as Python, GO, and Java for backend development. We do not discriminate by language, and if you have a preferred language within reason, we are happy to let you build with it! What We Value We believe outstanding engineers don’t need extensive training from big-tech companies but rather can learn through passion, curiosity, and resourcefulness. They should consider engineering as a craft, continuously refining their skills, solving challenges creatively, and learning from failures. This dedication to growth and excellence makes you an outstanding engineer. Must haves: Approach engineering as an artisan, treating it as a craft to be perfected Be fast. We operate at 200mph, and so should you. Be relentless. We never stop, so you are even faster than us. Be customer-driven. We think customers first, and so should you. Be driven and go above and beyond. Explain and communicate clearly. Be prepared to challenge us and disagree. We are thinking and acting as a team. Work autonomously. Want to work hard. Above all, be a genuinely nice person. Big plus: You are an athlete, or care about quantifying your data. Salary depending on experience: Β£33,000 - Β£80,000 + stock options
