About
Lead the Design Engineering discipline, aiming to demonstrate a robust, traceable and scalable product development capability Drawing from a Vision Spec Document, a Product Requirement Document, existing technology platforms and the company’s Industrial Design Identity guidelines, conceptualise the design of Inivos’ next addition to the product range Develop the mechanical design of the product following an iterative design-build-test cycle. Partner with Hardware Engineers to integrate the electromechanical systems in a GA Collaborate with the Design Manager to define a sufficient set of Functional and Performance requirements that the product and / or its sub-assemblies should meet Develop prototypes to test the adequacy of the design in meeting its functional and performance requirements. Resolution and accuracy of prototypes will vary alongside the maturity of the design, from early cardboard / benchtop proof of concepts to pre-production soft tooling Identify an adequate manufacturing method for all ‘made’ parts in the BOM, and ensure that the parts are designed with DFM in mind from the start Ensure that considered thoughts are given to assembly, service and repair, engaging with internal production engineers to draw from previous experience and lessons learned Manage design robustness through an FMEA approach Maintain a set of up-to date part and assembly drawings, and key tolerance stack analyses Collaborate with the Verification Engineer to design, carry out and analyse the results of verification tests Ensure adequate management of the design files in SolidWorks PDM Vault, and strong traceability of the design iterations. What will we need you to have?
