About

About the Role

We're partnering with a leading innovator in additive manufacturing to find an Additive Design Engineer who is passionate about technology, eager to learn the business, and ready to make an impact in the High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) industry.

Reporting directly to the Director of Additive Manufacturing, you'll take on a key role designing and engineering cutting-edge additive tooling solutions for the automotive, aerospace, and nuclear sectors. This position offers strong technical challenges, exposure to business operations, and a clear growth path toward becoming the Director's right hand.

Key Responsibilities

Design and engineer additive manufacturing solutions tailored to High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) and related industries.

Create and refine 3D models and simulations using Siemens NX and/or CATIA V5/V6.

Conduct thermal flow and simulation analyses to optimize designs for performance and manufacturability.

Prepare, maintain, and continuously improve design and process documentation, ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and R&D.

Over time, become a primary point of contact for select customers, offering technical guidance and trusted design expertise in additive tooling.

Learn and understand the business side of additive manufacturing—how design decisions influence project outcomes, profitability, and customer success.

Contribute innovative ideas, demonstrate initiative, and help drive continuous improvement within the additive team.

About You

You're a technically strong, self-motivated engineer who's curious about both design and business. You thrive in an environment that moves quickly and values creativity, initiative, and collaboration. You're as comfortable behind a CAD screen as you are discussing solutions with colleagues or clients.

Required Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.

3–5 years of engineering experience, ideally in design or manufacturing.

Proficiency with Siemens NX (preferred) and/or CATIA V5/V6.

Strong CAD/CAM/CAE aptitude and a genuine enthusiasm for learning new design tools.

Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Excellent communication skills with a proactive, energetic attitude.

Proven ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.

Preferred Assets

Experience in metal casting or metallurgy.

Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes (especially metal 3D printing).

Prior exposure to automotive, aerospace, or nuclear industry environments.

Why Join

Join a growing, innovative team that is transforming the world of additive manufacturing. You'll work directly with an approachable and supportive leader who empowers you to drive your own career in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with new challenges every week. The role offers opportunities to grow into a senior technical or business-focused position, all within a culture that values open communication, collaboration, and—yes—hockey every Friday

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all employees can thrive. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals—regardless of race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
