Role:
GRF is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician for the Afternoon shift.
Afternoon shift – 2:00 pm – 11:00 pm Monday to Friday – some weekend overtime required.
GRF operates in a cold, fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Applicants must be comfortable working with meat products (beef, pork, chicken, seafood, soy, etc Responsibilities:
  • Setup, maintenance and continuous improvement of our food processing and packaging equipment
  • Understand and maintain Packaging and Process Control Systems
  • Electrical equipment (troubleshooting & repair)
  • Electrical equipment installations in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Logically perform troubleshooting techniques on complex machinery, including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Prepare work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Responsible for the Preventative Maintenance (PM) of all site equipment
  • Provide support to source and prepare parts for all preventative and reactive work.
  • Prepare basic dimensioned sketches.
  • Read and understand technical bulletins, manuals, instructions and blueprints.
  • Performs daily, weekly, monthly and annual electrical & mechanical PMs
  • Participate in all maintenance team meetings.
  • Participate in production line changeover including but not limited to conveyors, case packers, tray formers and sealing equipment.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow the 5S principles. Practice a "safety first" policy by addressing hazards, defective equipment, wearing personal protective equipment as required, and by reporting & correcting unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety, HACCP, BRC and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be a Licensed Electrician. Proof of apprenticeship is an asset.
  • 2-5 years' industrial mechanical/electrical experience, preferably in the food industry
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and good communication skills
  • Ability to work in wet and cold/warm environments.
  • Knowledge of appropriate health & safety and environmental regulations
  • Adherence to Food Safety Protocols
  • Wages and Benefits:
  • $46.11/hr, plus afternoon shift premium of $1.00/hr, for a total wage of $47.11/hr.
