As the first full-time finance role in a high-growth venture, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for all the accounting-related functions of the Company, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Accounting and bookkeeping;
- Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes and related reporting;
- Payroll (performed monthly and includes both salaried and hourly employees);
- Customer engagement tracking, including determination of revenue recognition, following up on the collection of open invoices, and calculating/reporting on engagement profitability.
- Annual review or audit examination (August 31st year-end);
- Quarterly HST/GST/QST filings;
- Annual corporate income tax return, including T661 (SRED) claim;
- Working with the vCFO, preparation of the annual Corporate Budget and related multi-year financial projections; and,
- Other duties as assigned.

Expected qualifications include:
- University degree in business, commerce, finance, or the equivalent;
- CPA designation;
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada;
- Reliability clearance, or eligibility to meet qualifications to immediately obtain a Canadian Government security clearance (typically requires the candidate to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada);
- Minimum of 2 years related finance work experience;
- In-house accounting/finance experience is considered an asset, specifically in the technology sector; and,
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Cloud-based accounting systems (i.e. Quickbooks Online)
- Payroll management and processing is considered an asset
