Support Worker – Respite Care

Are you passionate about providing compassionate and high-quality support to individuals in need? We invite you to become an integral part of our team as a Support Worker. This fulfilling position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while gaining valuable experience in the disability support field.

We are seeking a dedicated support staff members available to work 1 on 1 on Fridays, with the opportunity to pick up other shifts

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver respite care for children and youth aged 2 to 17 years
  • Assist with daily routines, including bathing, dressing, and personal grooming
  • Administer medications in accordance with healthcare provider instructions
  • Prepare and serve meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
  • Perform light housekeeping to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
  • Support with mobility, transfers, and lifting as required
  • Have experience with G-tube feeding
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
  • Plan and facilitate engaging activities suited to clients' interests and abilities

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in similar support roles
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and mobility assistance
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, caring, and respectful attitude towards clients
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy

Requirements:

  • Valid First Aid Certification
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Background Check completed within the last 6 months
  • CFS Intervention Check completed within the last 6 months
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
