IS Dept Manager for Measurement & Report

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage the creation, update, maintenance, deletion, and delivery of master data while ensuring that it is consistent and trustworthy. We are looking for an experienced data engineer whose primary goal is to ensure that the data is properly received, transformed, stored, and made accessible to other data specialists for analysis. The IS Data Engineer plays an important role in providing measurement and reporting teams with information, through building and optimizing the systems constructing data pipelines and using complex tools and techniques to handle data. The work model for the role is: Hybrid #LI-Hybrid. This role is contributing to the ABB IS Services, based out in Bangalore. You will be mainly accountable for:

1. Understanding and applying a range of data engineering techniques like data sourcing, data cleaning and transformation.
2. Building datasets through effective usage of modern cloud-based data platform – Snowflake, and maintaining data model in data modeling environments.
3. Ensuring high quality and availability of data delivered to consumers along with building and maintaining close collaboration with the team supporting data sources and platforms.
4. Serving as internal support for integration projects for data ingestion/output, and collaborating with technical teams to develop and agree on system integration plans and report on progress.
5. Providing specifications for proposed solutions including materials and time necessary to complete.
6. Creating and maintaining Data Products such as Common Data Views.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in the field of data engineering.
• Familiar with database concepts and technologies including data warehousing, ETL design patterns, and DataMart structures.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL experience and ability to write complex queries.
• Experience in working with Azure tools.
• Self-learner who enjoys exploring new technologies and is willing to share knowledge within the team.
• Knowledge of Big Data (Snowflake), Qlik Compose & Replicate will be a plus.
• Basic knowledge about Tableau, Power BI, or any other BI tool.
