About the role
As a Data Center Operator, you'll play a key role in ensuring the day-to-day operational excellence of our mission-critical infrastructure. From maintenance and monitoring to optimization and safety, you'll be hands-on with the systems that power our facilities—and the businesses that depend on them. This role is based at our facility in Rocky View County, Alberta.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain electrical and mechanical systems (BMS, EPMS, BAS)
- Execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and SOPs
- Ensure compliance with SSAE 18, ISO, and PCI standards
- Present at Change Advisory Board meetings and collaborate with vendors
- Identify areas for efficiency and operational improvement
- Respond to fault conditions and assist with diagnosis/remediation
Customer & Site Support
- Rack and stack IT hardware
- Install/test copper and fiber cabling
- Enforce physical and remote security protocols
- Manage ticketing, visitor logs, and shipping/receiving
- Provide top-tier customer service and remote hands support
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of data center spaces
What you'll need to succeed
Experience
- 4+ years in a data center, facility, or mission-critical environment
- Strong background in electrical/mechanical systems and facility software
- Familiarity with ITIL principles and ticketing systems
Education & Certifications
- Licensed Building Engineer/Operator or equivalent experience
- Electrical certifications*
- CPR, AED certifications*
- Eligibility for Reliability Clearance
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Highly process-driven and detail-oriented
- Familiarity with Data Center Tiering (UTI) and thermal guidelines (ASHRAE TC9.9)
- Organized, independent, and proactive
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)

Working Conditions
The role has standard working conditions in a Data Center type of environment with rotation shift schedule to support our 24/7 operations. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress. The role requires to work with challenging clients, work on shifts 12-hours shift, work on evenings, nights, or on weekends and being on-call.
