Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cannabis Retail Manager to oversee the launch and operations of our first CannaPlus location adjacent to Liquor Plus in Royal Oak. This position will begin prior to opening to support all aspects of store setup and preparation. Reporting to the General Manager, the Store Manager will be accountable for day-to-day operations, team leadership, and maintaining the highest standards of compliance and customer service.

Pre-Opening Duties
- Support the General Manager in initial inventory selection
- Participate in the creation of the Operations Manual
- Select Team Members through interviewing, hiring, and training.
- Initial in-store display setup
- Learn the COVA POS system and Agendrix scheduling software
- Order products alongside the General Manager
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Operations
- Participates in creation of the 4-week operating budget, summarizing and reporting on weekly activities
- Coordinates with the General Manager to establish a product price verification schedule
- Orders product (supplementing the General Manager's purchasing decisions)
- Coordinates with the General Manager to ensure all products are merchandised in a clear and imaginative manner
- Ensures that all products have been received into POS software stored in accordance with company policy
- Completes store scheduling according to the pre-determined budgeted hours and Team Member availability
- Ensures that the location is kept to a high standard of cleanliness at all times
- Assists the General Manager in monitoring inventory levels and product variety. Oversees and assists with store inventory counts
Leadership
- Has a strong understanding of company policies and procedures
- Works with Human Resources to complete the employee lifecycle duties: Interviewing candidates, hiring, training, performance management, disciplinary action, and terminations.
- Ensures the team is meeting excellent customer service standards through continuous feedback.
- Demonstrates commitment to improving leadership skills
- Attends annual leadership training provided by the company
A strong candidate has
- Minimum 3+ years management experience
- Minimum 2+ years cannabis retail experience
- Strong understanding of cannabis regulations
- Experience with product selection
- Intermediate Microsoft Office experience
- Cova software experience
- BC Cannabis Wholesale ordering experience
Working Conditions and Requirements
- Must be 19+ years of age
- Must have Selling It Right certification
- Standing/moving for 8 hours per day
- 1 weekend day and 1 closing per month
- Seasonal vacation blackout periods: November, December, and late July for inventory counts & holiday season
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $62,000.00-$66,000.00 per year
