Data Scientist Location: Washington, D.C. Area (Hybrid – In-Office Tuesday & Thursday) About the Company A leading technology company is transforming healthcare engagement through a socio-behavioral analytics platform. By leveraging real-world data, they uncover the complex behavioral and social factors that influence individuals’ health decisions—ultimately working to improve health equity and outcomes. Their platform goes beyond traditional clinical data, integrating insights around beliefs, biases, social norms, and socioeconomic conditions to drive smarter, more human-centric healthcare strategies. The Role – Data Scientist As a Data Scientist or Senior Data Scientist, you’ll partner with pharmaceutical clients to solve complex business challenges through advanced analytics and AI-driven insights. You’ll use predictive and descriptive modeling, geospatial analysis, and commercial data techniques to enhance healthcare engagement and inform strategic decisions. Responsibilities: Apply predictive analytics to solve key business problems for pharma clients. Conduct descriptive and geospatial analyses to support decision-making. Drive commercial analytics using real-world data to optimize market strategy and revenue models. Perform patient journey analysis and uncover behavioral barriers to care using a human-centered approach. Collaborate with Product and R&D teams to improve data strategies and infrastructure. Support business development efforts, including consulting, analysis, and presentation creation. Communicate insights through clear visualizations, data storytelling, and strategic recommendations. Your Skills & Experience: 3+ years of experience in data science with a strong emphasis on pharma analytics. Client-facing experience and the ability to translate business needs into data solutions. Strong background in predictive modeling, regression, and statistical techniques. Proficient in Python, R, Databricks, and statistical analysis. Experience with real-world healthcare data, especially related to patient behavior and decision-making. Familiarity with commercial analytics in clinical trials, medical, or pharmaceutical industries. Strong problem-solving mindset and intellectual curiosity. Master’s degree required; PhD is a plus. Preferred Background: Experience in consulting firms, pharma tech companies, or internal pharma teams. Understanding of healthcare mistrust, behavioral analytics, and patient engagement. Ability to present data-driven business cases and build compelling slide decks. Skilled in structuring and interpreting commercial pharma datasets.
