Technical Product Manager – Software & Data Interface (f/m/d)

Welcome to Atlas Copco Product Company in Geretsried, near Munich, the home of Flow Drill Technology (FDF), part of the IAS (Industrial Assembly Solutions) Division of Atlas Copco. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in software development who will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver value-added solutions that meet market needs. You will act as the main contact person between the Product company and Atlas Copco customer centers worldwide for software and data interface related issues.

Your role:

This is a key position where you can make a difference. Your mission is to ensure the sustainable growth of the FDF product line, by providing Software & Data Interface solutions and related technical support to end customers and Atlas Copco customer centers worldwide.

Your main responsibilities include:

  1. Customer support and development: support Atlas Copco Customer Center teams in handling customer requests regarding IT interfaces and develop their local competence.
  2. As the primary point of contact for IT and software requirements internally and externally, lead the specification process for new projects including specification review to match customers’ needs.
  3. Prepare relevant business cases to prioritize Software & Data Interface developments/adaptations, to achieve strategic opportunities based on customer value and market trends.
  4. Internal collaboration: Ensure good internal collaboration between Engineering, R&D and the Division Software-and-Data Interface teams.
  5. Prepare project-specific standard software packages.
  6. Develop customer-specific software adaptations to meet requirements and prepare project-specific standard software packages.
  7. “Post project delivery” support: take ownership to fix customer’s issues with deployed software together with the local and global service teams including error proofing, bug fixing and new version upgrades.
  8. Provide training and create installation guidelines to facilitate full handover and closure to the local customer centers and service organizations.
  9. Project Management: define project scope, plan delivery and follow-up project execution ensuring full transparency and a solid process to handle change requests.

What you will need to succeed in this mission:

  1. Academic degree in one of the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), preferably with focus on Computer Science or other relevant area.
  2. Hands-on programming skills in C++, C#, Python & Java.
  3. Expert knowledge of Data Interface protocols like MQTT & OPCUA.
  4. High application knowledge around Software and/or data related solutions.
  5. Good communication skills in English and German (minimum B2 level), in speaking and writing.
  6. Ability to foster a collaborative mindset and communicate with different stakeholders at all levels.
  7. Demonstrate full ownership and entrepreneurial spirit in driving projects to success.
  8. Pro-active and flexible mindset to deal with new challenges and manage workload with “self-prioritization”.
  9. You are not afraid to make errors and are willing to “learn by doing”.
  10. You understand the dynamics of change management, support and service, and you drive for continuous improvement by challenging our ways of working and being open for feedback and new ideas.
  11. You enjoy working in an international working environment and are willing to travel internationally to meet customers and other parts of the global Atlas Copco organization.
