About
An Assistant Automotive Service Manager supports the Service Manager in overseeing the daily operations of an automotive service department. This role ensures efficient workflow, high-quality customer service, and compliance with dealership or company policies. The assistant manager acts as a liaison between customers, service advisors, and technicians, helping to maintain a productive and customer-focused environment.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring all work is performed efficiently and in accordance with company and manufacturer standards.
* Support the Service Manager in supervising service advisors, technicians, and other service staff, including scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.
* Greet customers, schedule service appointments, and document customer concerns and vehicle issues.
* Communicate directly with customers to explain recommended repairs, service procedures, and estimated costs and timelines.
* Coordinate with parts and warranty departments to ensure timely and accurate completion of repairs and warranty claims.
* Oversee the preparation of repair orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
* Monitor workflow and assign jobs to technicians based on skill level and availability.
* Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing complaints, resolving issues, and following up on service experiences.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in the service area.
* Assist with inventory management, including ordering and tracking parts and supplies.
* Support the implementation of company policies, safety procedures, and quality control standards.
* Prepare and review reports on service department performance, productivity, and customer feedback.
*Qualifications*
* *Previous experience in an automotive service environment, preferably in a supervisory or lead role.*
* *Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures.*
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency with dealership management software and basic computer applications.
* Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
