Role Overview

Wittington IT Operations & Delivery Director is responsible for improving and maintaining IT operational efficiency needed to enable our organization with a high-functioning stable technology environment. This role also plays a critical role in IT service delivery working with business stakeholders to gather and analyze new technology requests, and deliver the solution through working with IT cross-functional groups. In addition, this role is responsible for IT talent development by aligning skills with the strategic plan.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively managing IT cross-functional groups to maintain service level.
  • Identify IT operational improvement areas and implement efficiency.
  • Prioritize time-sensitive operation task based on risks and business impacts.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of all of IT assets is up to date.
  • Manage escalation and actively communicate with key stakeholders.
  • Centralize new IT requests for proper planning and prioritization based on IT cost and capacity.
  • Maintain close communication and relationship with business stakeholders.
  • Identify IT resource requirements to deliver a new IT solution.
  • Ensure the delivery of IT solution is successful and on time.
  • Manage team members and continue improving talent and skills within the IT groups.
  • Organize IT project and enhancement status.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Behavioral Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Over 10 years of experience in IT and business / industry.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience of team management and leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience with IT operating model development, including evolving roles, structures and delivery approaches to align with strategy.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams or projects.
  • Working experience working with senior-level management and business stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with proven track record of successful team development and working effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Experience in Project Delivery / Management.
  • Experience in managing IT Infrastructure, Application software development is an asset.
  • Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions and strategic application to business needs.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, and influence key stakeholders.
  • Strong customer and user experience mindset
  • Ability to adapt to a wide range of activities without losing focus in order to handle the diverse nature of tasks.
