Artificial Intelligence Engineer

GrantOps is hiring a Full Stack AI Engineer
to join our fast-moving team pushing the boundaries of AI-driven grant automation and funding intelligence. This role is ideal for a well-rounded engineer with full-stack expertise and GCP experience who's eager to build AI systems that reason, automate, and create value in complex workflows.

You'll work across our / React Native frontend, GCP-powered backend, and AI agent architecture—developing intelligent assistants that can analyze, draft, and optimize grants autonomously.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack features across web and mobile / React Native)
• Deploy and scale applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Design and implement AI agent workflows and grant automation pipelines
• Collaborate with product and design teams to scope intelligent grant use cases
• Experiment with LLMs and agentic frameworks to enhance reasoning and writing quality
• Contribute to fine-tuning models, prompt engineering, and embedding strategies
• Build internal tools to test and monitor AI agent performance
• Document AI capabilities, failure cases, and design patterns

Required Experience

• 3+ years of full-stack engineering (React, Node, Firebase or equivalent)
• Strong proficiency with GCP (Cloud Functions, Firestore, Pub/Sub, IAM, etc.)
• Hands-on with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, etc.)
• Experience building end-to-end applications (frontend to deployment)
• Interest in or experience with AI agent frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGPT, etc.)
• Familiarity with Python for AI workflows
• Solid Git/GitHub habits and ability to collaborate in async environments

Preferred AI/ML/Agent Skills

Working knowledge of:

• Prompt engineering
• Vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate)
• Fine-tuning models using instruction datasets
• Chaining tools and APIs using LangChain or similar
• Embedding techniques (OpenAI, HuggingFace, etc.)
• Multi-agent orchestration concepts
• Understanding of reinforcement learning or planning algorithms (nice to have)
• Contributions to open-source AI tools or research (nice to have)
