About

As a Safety Coordinator you will join our safety management team and be a key individual in executing the company's safety program by supporting field operations and promoting a strong safety culture.

The responsibilities include:

  • Conduct site safety inspections and report deficiencies.
  • Monitor worksite compliance with company safety program.
  • Implement and support project plans, regulatory requirements and other safe work practices.
  • Deliver toolbox talks.
  • Support incident reporting and preliminary investigations.
  • Maintain site-specific safety documentation and records.
  • Assist in implementing corrective actions and hazard mitigation.
  • Attend and assist Worksite Health and Safety Committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with site superintendents on safe work procedures.
  • Maintain and administer safety supplies.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Post secondary certificate in occupational health & safety.
  • Minimum one years' experience in the commercial construction industry.
  • Working knowledge of Manitoba Workplace Safety & Health Regulations and COR Safety Standards.
  • Strong observation, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Extensive health and safety training, including valid first aid.
  • Valid driver's license with clean drivers abstract
  • Ability to travel to worksites in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.

Working Conditions:

  • Hours of work, Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Office and worksite based.
  • Physical requirements include walking on uneven surfaces and carrying up to 30 lbs.
  • May require occasional travel for project assessments and meetings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
