Position Overview:

We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Pickering. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the construction industry, be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and have working knowledge of Jonas Construction Software (asset). This role is best suited for someone local to the Durham Region (East GTA) who enjoys working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day accounting duties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries

• Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports accurately and in a timely manner

• Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on discrepancies

• Assist with payroll support and job costing activities

• Prepare and maintain financial records and documentation for projects

• Support month-end and year-end reporting processes

• Coordinate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate cost tracking

and reporting

• Utilize Jonas software (or similar) for accounting and project management functions

• Maintain organized and up-to-date files and accounting records

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data entry accuracy)

• Experience with Jonas Construction Software is a strong asset

• Knowledge of accounting principles and best practices

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$64,000.00 per year
