Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Experience in a veterinary setting or laboratory experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate. The Veterinary Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for pet owners and supporting our veterinary staff.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival and departure
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services
- Maintain accurate patient records and update client information in the system
- Process payments, handle billing, and manage invoices
- Assist with laboratory procedures as needed, utilizing laboratory experience to support diagnostic processes
- Coordinate communication between clients and veterinary staff regarding treatment plans and follow-up care
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
- Support inventory management by tracking supplies and ordering as necessary
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or laboratory setting is preferred; laboratory experience is especially valuable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Proficiency with computer systems, scheduling software, and basic office equipment
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and discretion
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in veterinary assisting is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.85-$22.71 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
