Senior Database Administrator
Deposita, an Allied Universal Company, is hiring a Senior Database Administrator. The Senior Database Administrator will provide hands-on leadership and oversight with business and leadership teams and partners to identify needs, define strategy and guide the delivery of new technologies. Responsibilities include: Providing strategic insight and expertise and tactical execution of Deposita's technology infrastructure game plan Evaluating current data structure, environment, and creating in collaboration with the product team and executing a short-term plan to any identified gaps or potential issues Actively engaging in strategic planning for Deposita infrastructure architecture design Ownership and leadership of response and resolution for all major incidents Evaluating DR plan, identifying gaps, improving current environment, testing, and maintaining a DR testing protocol Creating a self-audit evaluation of current technology environment Providing regular internal reviews on key performance and management information reporting Making recommendations on improved processes for customer and/or application enhancements and cost saving strategies Conducting project postmortems and creating a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements Qualifications include: Microsoft Technology certifications or experience including SQL, Azure, and other technology modules Must possess one or more of the following: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related degree, Associate's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a professional database administration role, High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a professional database administration role Work experience with MSSQL or Oracle Work experience with Visual Studio Hands-on experience demonstrating proficiency in the following: In collaboration with the product team, development of strategies and execute plans for managing large and growing databases, In collaboration with the product team, design, and implementation of Disaster Recover strategies, In collaboration with the product team, create architecture and implement High Availability strategies to provide near-real-time replication environment, Design, lead and execute key production performance monitoring, Create audit test scripts and ensure assigned area passes internal/external audit requirements, Provide production support Enabling and improving people, process, and technology to deliver optimal support service to the business Service reviews, KPI, management information reporting Add value to a high performing team Effective oral and written communication skills Ability to perform required activities in a self-management environment Planning and organizing skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Problem solving skills Coaching, mentoring, motivating skills Active listening skills Encourage effective teamwork Assess and evaluate situations effectively Synthesize facts, concepts, principles Identify critical issues quickly and accurately Compile, sort, and interpret data Research, investigate, compile information Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy Ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately Advanced creativity Setting and achieving goals Attending to detail Working on a higher performing team Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated aptitude for effective leadership of staff Demonstrated ability to be flexible, adaptable, organized Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands for time, energy, and resources Preferred Qualifications: Enterprise Database Technologies certification or relative on the job training Office environment with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures expected Major activities include working on PC while sitting, telephone use Physical effort is limited, to include some standing, bending, light lifting, and limited stretching and reaching Must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insurance Enrollment in our company's 401(k) plan, subject to eligibility requirements Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly.
