Job Summary

Smitty's Fort St. John is looking for an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team If you're passionate about preparing quality food in a fast-paced, friendly environment, we'd love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook menu items according to Smitty's standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and prep areas
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
• Assist with inventory, prep, and kitchen setup
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen and front-of-house staff

Teamwork & Operations

• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, hosts, bussers, and management.
• Follow opening, shift change, and closing duties consistently.
• Restock stations, glassware, condiments, and bar supplies as needed.
• Comply with all food safety, health, and WorkSafeBC regulations.
• Support special events, promotions, or high-volume periods as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous cooking experience in a full-serve restaurant preferred
• Food Safe Level 1 required (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Flexible availability (including weekends and evenings)

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Able to lift up to 25–30 lbs.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
