The Opportunity

We are seeking a GIS Analyst for our Pipeline & Integrity projects group. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of mapping, web mapping, and pipeline as-built data maintenance applications within an enterprise GIS environment. Your role will be dynamic, exciting, and rewarding as you support your fellow team in a fulfilling work environment.

What You'll Do

• Create a variety of compiled maps, plans and detailed map books to support major pipeline projects
• Manage pipeline and project data within an enterprise database environment
• Process and manage field survey data related to topographic, legal and pipeline construction surveys
• Daily review, correction, and maintenance of pipeline as-built construction datasets within a GIS environment
• Create automated pipeline alignment sheets

• Support project managers and field crews with creation of diverse deliverables and spatial data products

• Adhere to Global Raymac standard mapping templates

• Follow organization best practices for spatial data management and cartography

Qualifications

• GIS or Geomatics Engineering Technology Degree or Diploma or similar GIS related education or experience

• Strong cartographic skills and knowledge with 4+ years of working in a production mapping environment using ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro

• Microsoft SQL Management Studio experience
• Advanced knowledge of Data Driven Pages and Map Book Creation and Alignment Sheets using Sheetcutter software
• Proficient with ESRI Linear Referencing Tools and their application to pipeline projects
• Strong spatial data management and editing skills with ArcPro, ArcMap, AGOL, AEC, Survey123 and ESRI tools along with Python Scripting in a GIS environment
• Experience working with variety of data formats, i.e. vector, CAD, imagery, DEM and LiDAR
• Experience with field survey data, notes, techniques, and processing
• Strong knowledge and experience with Land Survey systems of Western Canada (i.e. AB, BC and SK) and provincial datasets, such as DIDS, BCER and AER datasets, etc.
• 4+ years experience working with geomatics/survey data, at least 2+ years with pipeline-based projects
• Knowledge of relational databases, SDE, SQL and database best practices
• Experience with ArcGIS online, Portal, Experience Builder, creating and configuring dashboards

Nice to Have:

• Experience with AWS S3, Global Mapper, QGIS

The compensation package for this position will commensurate with the level of responsibility of the position as well as the candidate's qualifications.
