Reporting to the Equipment Manager, the Journeyman HD Technician Lead Hand will assist in overseeing daily operations in our heavy equipment repair shop. This role is responsible for supervising technicians, coordinating repairs and maintenance, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
How You'll Add Value
- Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
- Perform quality control checks on completed work
- Assist technicians with complex repairs and troubleshooting
- Provide mentorship, training, and support to apprentices and junior technicians
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of heavy equipment including On-Highway trucks, loaders, agricultural tractors, mowers and light fleet pickup trucks
- Ensure all work is performed according to OEM specifications and safety standards
- Review and prioritize work orders in coordination with the Equipment Manager
- Ensure accurate documentation of repairs, parts usage, and labor hours
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician On and Off Road (Red Seal preferred).
- Valid Class 1 or 3 Operator's License; with Driver's Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits
- 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair
- Proficient with maintenance software (e.g., CMMS)
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset
- Physically able to safely and consistently lift up to 40lbs regularly
Note: Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing will be required.
