The Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer is responsible for developing new embedded software products for power supplies and motor controls, implementing modern software design principles, resolving complex technical problems and providing solutions which are innovative and ingenious. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain software architecture; manage requirements using Jama and maintain software configuration. Apply knowledge of the DO-178 software development process to ensure compliance and quality. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and firmware issues. Design, develop, and enhance embedded software/firmware for power supplies and motion control systems. Modify and optimize existing embedded software to correct errors, support new hardware, and improve performance. Participate in peer reviews of software components and system designs. Collaborate with project leaders and cross-functional engineering teams to achieve project objectives. Execute assignments within defined scope, schedule, and performance expectations. Perform other duties as assigned. Core Requirements Willingness to work onsite in Olathe, KS. Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design principles and applications. Desireable Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent field). 3-7 years relevant industry experience. Basic knowledge in AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC power conversion using switching regulations across isolated and non-isolated topologies. Strong knowledge in digital control and data acquisition for power conversion, motor control, and battery management applications. Hands-on experience with embedded systems development and C programming. Proficiency in working with microcontrollers and digital signal processors (DSPs). Knowledge of communication protocols, including SMBus, RS485, CAN, Ethernet, RS232, and I2C.
