We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. We are a family owned, private practice that focuses on customized patient and client needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to animal welfare and provide high-quality veterinary care. This role involves diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on proper animal care. The Veterinarian will work in a collaborative environment with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Veterinarians have the opportunity for quarterly production bonuses above base salary - with bonuses in 2024 averaging $20,000/full-time DVM. A relocation bonus is available to be reimbursed for any moving expenses. Doctors typically work 4 x 10hr shifts with occasional Saturdays and are supported by a team of technicians, assistants and receptionists. The practice is managed by an administrator with over 20 years in the veterinary industry.
Our hospital offers a full in-house Idexx lab suite, with AI assisted diagnostics tools, state of the art imaging tools such as digital radiology, dental radiology and ultrasound, a cloud-based practice management/medical record system, and many other essential tools.
Our hospital has been in practice for several decades serving Louisville and are excited to expand our clinical staff and other services in 2025.
*Duties*
* Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health status.
* Diagnose illnesses and injuries, developing appropriate treatment plans.
* Perform surgical procedures, utilizing aseptic techniques.
* Administer vaccinations and medications as needed.
* Provide guidance on general care practices to pet owners.
* Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
* Collaborate with veterinary technicians in the handling and care of animals.
* Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment options and preventive care.
* Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education.
* Oversee and help train and develop staff through in house CE and other activities
*Experience*
Candidates should have the following skills and experience:
* Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology.
* Proficiency in animal handling techniques, including dog handling and catheterization.
* Experience with aseptic techniques in surgical environments.
* Familiarity with various aspects of animal care, including grooming practices.
* A degree in Veterinary Medicine from an accredited institution is required, along with a valid veterinary license.
