A state of the art booming Swiss AI & Data scale-up is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Data Modeler to join their dynamic Data Engineering & Cloud team. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in data modeling, database design, and data architecture. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing strong data models that ensure data integrity, scalability, and optimal performance across a range of systems and applications.

Vacancy

Who you are

  • 4+ years of experience in data modeling, with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale data solutions.
  • Experience in Data Vault 2.0 methodology, including hub-link-satellite modeling, historization, and PIT/bridge concepts.
  • Understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling and their application in modern data ecosystems.
  • Solid grasp of data governance principles, metadata management, and maintaining business term alignment across models.
  • Experience working in agile environments and version control (Git). If you are familiar with CI/CD practices and pull request workflows for data models, it will be considered as a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional client teams.
  • Fluency in SQL and experience integrating models into data pipelines and BI/reporting layers.
  • Ability to mentor peers and guide modeling decisions, serving as a trusted expert within project teams.
  • Experience with dbt and Databricks will be considered as a plus.

Your tasks

  • Translate complex business needs into robust Data Vault 2.0 models, including conceptual, logical, and physical layers.
  • Design and implement scalable, auditable data products using Data Vault patterns that support both operational and analytical use cases.
  • Ensure modeling consistency and alignment with enterprise standards, especially across multiple data domains and delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders and data teams to clarify requirements, define model scope, and align on delivery timelines.
  • Integrate Data Vault models with modern data platforms (cloud or hybrid), ensuring compatibility with CI/CD and version control workflows.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on modeling approaches, mentoring peers and guiding teams on advanced Data Vault use cases.
