This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

Communication Technology Group (CTG) is part of HPE with focus on the Communications, Media and Entertainment customer segments. CTG business is uniquely positioned providing industry specific rich solutions.

This is an innovative organization focused on selling software as a service and fully aligned with overall HPE as-a-service Strategy.

In a typical day as a Application Software Engineer in our projects for the largest Swiss Telco Operator you:

• Analyze business requirements and transform them into technical design guidelines and architectures
• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
• Deploy managed releases, updates and fixes
• Implement and test APIs and REST
• Provide technical support to other teams and on overall project
• Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
• Perform root cause analysis for production errors
• Investigate and resolve technical issues
• Accelerate feedback for team members by optimizing CI pipeline and improving local and cloud development tooling
• Foster architectural runway evolution and transition to cloud-native application paradigms

If you have these Skills, Expertise, Attitude and Education…

• Academic degree in engineering or computer science
• HPE Service Director (Product) Specialist with at least 3 year of delivery experience
  • Modelling principals and implementation of Network Equipment Configuration
  • Modelling principals and implementation of Software Defined Networking
  • Modelling principals and implementation of infrastructure components
  • Basic understanding of the product offering for BNS/EC
• Professional software engineering experience with Java EE, Spring, Angular, Groovy
• Behavior-driven-development (BDD) based on Cucumber framework (Java) for testing
• Production experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL Databases
• Familiar with CloudNative and DevOps principles and methodology
• Knowledge of containerization technologies and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• CICD processes knowledge (build, test and deploy applications to different platforms, from local to Cloud Providers main platform, like AWS, GWP, Azure, OpenShift)
• Fundamentals of EDA principles and technologies
• Fundamentals of Networking
• Strong technical skills
• Self-motivated and problem solver
• Fluency in English language
