MN26-01 Network Support Engineer / Systems Support Specialist – Boston, MA – 12 Months Sigma Systems is seeking a Network Support Engineer / Systems Support Specialist for a long-term onsite assignment in Boston's Financial District.
This position supports a professional governmental office environment and is ideal for candidates with strong networking, infrastructure, and end-user support experience. The primary focus will be maintaining network connectivity, infrastructure reliability, and systems support, while also assisting users with desktop and technical issues as needed.
Location: Boston, MA (Financial District) Duration: 12 Months Schedule: Monday – Friday, standard business hours Work Environment: 100% Onsite
Responsibilities
Support and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, wireless connectivity, VPNs, and related equipment
Troubleshoot network performance, connectivity, and infrastructure issues
Monitor and maintain Windows-based systems and user environments
Configure, deploy, and support desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals
Administer and support Active Directory, user accounts, access permissions, and Microsoft 365 environments
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for escalated infrastructure issues
Perform system upgrades, hardware installations, and equipment replacements
Maintain technical documentation and inventory records
Provide technical support for end users as required
Assist with onboarding, workstation setup, and office technology deployments
Support security, patching, backup, and disaster recovery processes
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Network Support, Systems Administration, Desktop Support, or Infrastructure Support
Experience supporting routers, switches, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network troubleshooting
Experience supporting Windows environments, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience supporting end users in a professional office environment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting governmental, financial services, healthcare, biotech, or other regulated environments
Experience with Azure AD, Intune, VMware, or enterprise infrastructure technologies
Experience supporting executive or VIP users
Additional Information
Long-term onsite assignment located in Boston's Financial District
Due to client requirements, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
