Business Analyst – Payroll Time & Attendance Chicago, IL, United States (Hybrid)
Job Description Key Responsibilities
Lead testing and validation efforts for system upgrades and new implementations.
Lead or support system implementations, upgrades, and testing efforts.
Support data mapping, system integrations, and automation initiatives between ADP and other HRIS platforms.
Essential Functions
Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for ADP payroll systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, ADP Enterprise V6, ADP Celergo) and ADP Workforce Manager.
Support payroll operations and time tracking across multiple manufacturing sites in North America.
Collaborate with internal teams and ADP to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and ensure system integrity.
Support time and attendance compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local labor laws across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Support payroll audits and reporting using ADP reporting tools.
Payroll & Time and Attendance Focus

Support payroll operations and time tracking across multiple manufacturing sites in North America.
Collaborate with internal teams and ADP to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and ensure system integrity.

ADP Integrations
Lead and support integrations between ADP and other enterprise systems, including:
HCM → ADP: Employee data synchronization for payroll processing.
ADP WFM → ADP: time tracking integration to payroll system(s).
ADP → Oracle EPM: Payroll journal entries and GL mapping.
ADP → Microsoft Power BI: Payroll analytics and dashboard reporting.
Manage API-based and file-based integrations, ensuring data accuracy and security.
Coordinate with IT and vendors to troubleshoot integration issues and optimize performance.
Business Analysis & Process Optimization
Gather and document business requirements for system changes, enhancements, and integrations.
Translate business needs into functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams.
Analyze current payroll and workforce management processes and recommend improvements tailored to manufacturing operations.
Conduct gap analyses and recommend process improvements across HR and payroll operations.
Lead testing and validation efforts for system upgrades and new implementations.

Additional Functions
Partner with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure systems meet operational needs and compliance standards.
Partner with the business to align system capabilities with business goals.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather feedback, present findings, communicate project updates, and drive decision-making.
Physical Requirements
Sitting Continuously you are required to remain in a stationary position and perform desk-based for 8 hours at a time approximately 5 days per work week.
Manual Dexterity Continuously required to use hand-eye coordination to control both hands and arms for a full range of motion to operate equipment/machinery/power tools/office productivity equipment.
Ascending / Descending Frequently ascending or descending ladders/stairs/scaffolding/ramps/poles.
Observation / Eyesight Continuously required to observe details at close range, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to differentiate between colors.
Communication Continuously required to talk and hear in person and by phone/conference calls.
Required to travel internationally.
Environmental & Hazardous Conditions
Continuously working indoors in an air-conditioned office/manufacturing/site-based environment.
Infrequently exposure to fumes/vapors/dust/gases/odors/mist/toxic chemicals/radiation/vibration/grease/oils/radiation/lasers/other etc.
Occasionally exposed to low/moderate/high noise levels, including machinery/vehicles/forklifts/office equipment/office traffic, etc.
Infrequently working around energized equipment with the risk of electrocution/scalding/burns/other etc.
Infrequently exposure to wet humid/outdoor weather/extreme cold (non-weather)/extreme heat (non-weather) conditions/other conditions.
Infrequently working with machinery with moving parts/vehicles/forklifts/heavy machinery/sharp objects/other etc.
Education Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR, Information Systems, or related field.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in HR, payroll, and/or time and attendance systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Hands‑on experience with ADP payroll products and ADP Workforce Manager is required.
Experience managing ADP integrations with enterprise systems and data mapping.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Strong understanding of payroll regulations and workforce management practices in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Strong understanding of time and attendance systems
Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and reporting tools (e.g., ADP Reporting, Power BI) is a plus.
Preferred
Familiarity with manufacturing workforce scheduling and labor tracking.
Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud HCM) and their integration with ADP.
Familiarity with compliance requirements (e.g., FLSA, ACA).
Familiarity with time and attendance / timeclocks.
Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/French) is a plus.
Project management experience or certification (e.g., PMP, Agile) is desirable.
Willingness to travel as needed for team member discussions and business partnerships
