Responsibilities AlgorithmDevelopment:Create, build, andrefinequantumalgorithmsfor cryptanalysis and simulation.
ProtocolCreation:Design novel quantum cryptographic schemes.
Validation & Optimization:Develop, test, andvalidatemodelsfor estimating the cost and practicality ofalgorithmson scaled quantum computers.
Large-Scale Modeling:Conduct simulations tooptimizequantum systemarchitecturesfor applications.
Research:Drivemathematicalresearch and experimentation aimed atdeveloping new quantum algorithms.
Cross-Team Collaboration:Collaborate effectively across teams,demonstratingclear communication.

Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environment
OR Master's Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environment OR Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environment
OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements: Abilityto meet Microsoft,customerand/or government security screening requirementsarerequiredfor this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will berequiredto pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. Ability toleverageAI tools to drive innovation and efficiency.
Ability to work in an "AI-first" environment using modern AI tools to accelerateresearch anddiscovery.
Additional/Preferred Qualifications: Programming experience inone or more quantumprogramming languages.
Experience developing and implementing algorithms for quantum applications.
Experience with high-performance classical computing methods.
Methodical problem-solving andcritical-thinkingabilities.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within adynamicmulti-disciplinary team environment.
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:high-performance computing, simulation of physical systems,cryptologyor related mathematicalsubject,quantum algorithms.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations, with proficient communication and leadership skills.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
