Significant experience providing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services on large industrial projects Proficiency executing large EPC projects utilizing engineering analysis, 3D modeling and 2D Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) automation tools in a multi-discipline environment Discipline Specific Job Requirements Interpret and apply national, state, and local codes and standards, and customer design requirements for the preparation of electrical design / construction documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to assigned tasks through project startup Prepare and modify electrical design drawings (e.g., single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagram layouts, raceway, lighting, and grounding) Perform complex system studies (e.g., short circuit, load flow, stability, motor starting, harmonics, relay coordination, and ground grid) Develop area classifications and design documents Develop electrical design documents Perform electrical calculations such as short circuit, relay coordination, voltage drop, cable de-rating and cable pulling tension Prepare motor schematics and wiring diagrams Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer license Experience with design of systems, structures and components for nuclear facilities under the requirements of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) NQA-1 Advanced knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials Demonstrated experience managing and leading large projects Proficiency with project set-up, development of control-level schedules, progress reporting and project close-out Practical field experience EPC project experience for the following industries: U.S Department of Energy or other U.S. Federal Government Agency Nuclear facilities under a nuclear quality assurance program Manufacturing, pharmaceutical or biotechnology Proficiency with Intergraph Smart3D (S3D) Proficiency with Visual Professional lighting design software Advanced knowledge of: Electrical codes and standards Electrical power systems Electrical power systems software (e.g., SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), Electrical Transient and Analysis Program (ETAP), etc.)
Electrical Design Engineer Job Description Provide essential technical knowledge and perform engineering work as described below. This position serves as a staff engineer performing engineering assignment of intermediate complexity.
