About
Nashville, TN preferred. Open to remote for the right candidate. Minno is a global media and technology company based in Nashville, Tennessee, on a mission to help kids and families experience Jesus every day through media and technology. Founded in 2019, Minno is building the most trusted Christian media brand for the next generation. Through our streaming platform, original programming, publishing, and digital presence, we spark children's curiosity about God and the Bible, support parents, and create joyful, lasting faith experiences for families worldwide. Minno is a fast-growing startup — powered by a mission-driven team with experience at Amazon, PBS KIDS, Duolingo, Disney, DreamWorks Animation, Noggin, and leading studios and startups. Our growth has placed us in the top 1% of direct-to-consumer subscription businesses, and we are scaling rapidly following the close of our Series A round, led by Konvoy Ventures. Minno is a Nashville-based global media company serving Christian kids and families through: Minno Kids: Our flagship ad-free streaming platform experiencing triple-digit growth Minno Originals: Award-winning original programming including "Laugh and Grow Bible for Kids" and "Young David" YouTube channel: The fastest-growing Christian kids' channels with triple-digit year-over-year growth Minno Press: Our successful publishing unit behind bestselling children's titles, including the award-winning "Minno Laugh & Grow Bible for Kids." We differentiate ourselves through creative excellence, faithful curation, parent partnership, and a global vision that honors the diversity of the Church. Minno is a public benefit corporation, and our mission fuels everything we do. Minno uniquely differentiates itself by promising: Experiential Excellence: Top-tier quality that changes expectations and raises the bar for Christian content. Safe Entertaining Christian Content: Kid-friendly, entertaining, engaging, age-appropriate, and Biblically aligned content. Practical Faith Support: Resources that cultivate faith, invite conversation, and foster spiritual growth. Values the Global Church: Honoring the diversity of the global church and people as image bearers of God. As a public benefit corporation, Minno is committed to helping kids and their families experience Jesus every day through media and technology. This mission drives everything we do. The Opportunity Minno is hiring a Product Designer to own the end-to-end product experience for kids and families across our digital ecosystem. This person will design intuitive, joyful, and developmentally appropriate experiences that help children safely discover and engage with faith-based content while building trust with parents and caregivers. This role is ideal for a product designer with strong experience designing shipped digital products for kids. The right candidate understands that child-facing UX is not simply simpler adult UX. It requires thoughtful decisions around age-appropriate navigation, cognitive load, safety, delight, accessibility, parent confidence, and engagement. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Content, Marketing, and Research to improve core journeys (onboarding, content discovery, search, browse, playback, profiles, parental controls). You will help establish Minno's product design system, strengthen design-to-engineering collaboration, and build a product design culture grounded in real insight from kids and families. This is not a traditional UI production role or a purely strategic leadership position. We are looking for a highly hands-on product designer who can operate as a player-coach: someone capable of bringing strong UX and product thinking while also shipping polished, practical work quickly in collaboration with Product and Engineering. Above all, this person will help make Minno's digital products more cohesive, trustworthy, engaging, and mission-aligned, ensuring every interaction serves families well and helps kids experience Jesus every day. Our Mission and Faith Minno is a Christian company, and our faith is inseparable from our work. We are building a platform to help kids and families experience Jesus every day, and that conviction shapes every product decision, content investment, and hire we make. We are looking for someone who is personally aligned with that mission, not because it is a checkbox, but because the work is more meaningful when the mission resonates. You do not need to be an expert in Christian media, but you do need to genuinely care about what we are building for kids and families and see this role as more than a career move. What You Will Do Own end-to-end UX and UI design for Minno's kid and family digital product experiences across web, mobile, tablet, streaming, audio, and future platforms Design age-appropriate, intuitive, joyful experiences that help kids safely discover, choose, watch, listen, and engage with faith-based content Improve core product journeys including onboarding, content discovery, search, browse, playback, profiles, parental controls, and subscription-related flows Build and maintain a scalable design system, including reusable components, interaction patterns, responsive states, accessibility standards, and design documentation Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Content, Marketing, and Research from early problem definition through launch, QA, and iteration Translate insights from kids, parents, caregivers, research, analytics, and support feedback into practical product improvements Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, high-fidelity designs, interaction specs, and production-ready handoff materials Design with safety, trust, accessibility, privacy, and parent confidence in mind, especially for child-facing and family-facing experiences Use product data, usability findings, and strong design judgment to identify friction points and prioritize improvements Bring a proactive design point of view to Minno's product roadmap, helping shape what best-in-class kids and family digital experiences should feel like What You Will Bring Must Have 5+ years of UI/UX, product design, or interaction design experience with demonstrated growth in scope and ownership Strong, direct experience designing shipped digital products for kids, children, or family audiences A portfolio showing end-to-end product thinking: problem definition, audience, research, flows, interaction design, visual craft, tradeoffs, shipped work, and impact Deep understanding of age-appropriate UX, including cognitive load, reading level, navigation simplicity, motor skills, tap targets, safety, delight, and parent trust Strong comfort operating in ambiguity and rapidly evolving product environments where speed, iteration, and product judgment matter more than rigid process Strong Figma skills, including components, variants, prototyping, design systems, responsive states, annotations, and engineering handoff Experience designing consumer digital products across mobile, web, tablet, streaming, connected TV, or similar multi-platform environments Ability to work closely with Product and Engineering from early concept through launch, QA, and iteration Strong visual and interaction design craft with excellent judgment around simplicity, hierarchy, motion, feedback, and brand expression Genuine alignment with Minno's Christian mission and enthusiasm for serving kids and families Strongly Preferred Experience in kids streaming, children's media, EdTech, family subscription apps, kids games, or interactive learning products Experience designing for both child users and parent/caregiver users in the same product ecosystem Hands-on experience with streaming, video, audio, content discovery, recommendations, or media playback experiences Experience building or maintaining a design system in a small or scaling product organization Experience using research, usability testing, product analytics, A/B testing, or behavioral data to prioritize and evaluate UX improvements Comfort designing across connected TV, tablet, mobile, and web where interaction models differ by platform Familiarity with COPPA-aware, privacy-conscious, accessible, and non-manipulative design patterns for children and families Comfort using AI tools to accelerate research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, and design production while maintaining strong product judgment Nice to Have Background in faith-based, values-driven, family, or children's media Illustration, animation, or motion design skills that strengthen child-facing product moments Experience with accessibility for neurodiverse children or inclusive design for different ages and abilities Experience with content taxonomy, metadata, playlists, recommendations, or personalized discovery
