Resident Assistant / Floor Assistant Night Shift

Location: Hopedale Medical Complex (HMC) Schedule: 6:30 PM 6:30 AM (12-hour shifts) Pay: Starting at $16.00/hr +$2.00/hr night shift differential +$2.50/hr weekend differential Rotating weekends and holidays required

As a Resident Assistant, you'll provide hands-on care, meaningful companionship, and essential daily support in a compassionate, team-focused environment.

What You'll Do

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and mobility
  • Serve meals and support residents during dining; maintain a clean dining environment
  • Provide medication reminders in accordance with facility policies
  • Escort residents to on-site services such as lab, imaging, and therapy
  • Monitor resident well-being and report changes in condition
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation and activity logs
  • Respond promptly to resident needs, including call assistance and wake-up requests
  • Support housekeeping tasks such as linens and common areas
  • Assist with administrative duties, including answering phones as needed
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Float to hospital or nursing home departments as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer and documentation skills Ability to work independently and stay organized
  • Preferred: CNA, PCA, or HHA certification Experience in a residential care or healthcare setting

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility and personal care
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff

Work Environment

  • Primarily based in the Commons
  • May support hospital and nursing home areas as needed
  • Frequent interaction with residents, families, and care teams
