Principal Mechanical Engineer – Data CentresLocation: Hybrid if close to offices throughout the UK or RemoteSalary: £65,000–£80,000 + benefits depending on experienceWe’re partnered with a consultancy that’s continuing to grow its mission-critical division and is looking to bring in Principal level Mechanical Engineers to help lead project delivery.Why this role stands outYou’ll work on large-scale, technically challenging Data Centre projects within a business that genuinely values its engineers. There’s flexibility around remote working, strong support for progression, and the chance to influence both projects and the wider team.What you’ll be doingYou’ll lead the delivery of mechanical design across mission-critical projects, coordinating design packages, supporting project delivery, and acting as a key technical point of contact internally and externally. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical development within the team.Key requirements

Strong background within mechanical building services design
Previous Data Centre or mission-critical experience is essential
Experience leading projects or key design packages
Strong understanding of UK and/or international standards
Comfortable working directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams
Experience using relevant design software including Revit and IES
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Chartered or working towards Chartership preferred
