Project Engineer – Aerospace Tooling & Manufacturing
We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join a growing precision engineering business supporting some of the world’s most advanced aerospace programmes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical or manufacturing engineering background who enjoys coordinating complex projects, working closely with production teams, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions from concept through to completion.
You’ll play a key role in driving projects through manufacture and delivery while working alongside design, production, quality, customers, and suppliers in a fast-paced engineering environment.
The Role
As Project Engineer, you will lead and coordinate tooling and manufacturing projects from release through to final delivery, ensuring targets for quality, cost, and schedule are achieved.
You’ll be responsible for managing multiple projects at once, communicating effectively with customers and internal departments, and helping solve technical and manufacturing challenges along the way.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage manufacturing projects from release to delivery

Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards

Review and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications including GD&T

Work closely with Design, Production, and Quality teams to meet customer requirements

Provide customers with regular project updates and resolve technical queries

Support investigations and resolution of variances or non-conformances
-
Maintain accurate project documentation and status reporting

Communicate project progress clearly during production and management meetings
-
Support supplier and customer visits when required
What We’re Looking For Essential

Degree, HNC, or HND in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience within a tooling, manufacturing, or engineering environment

Strong CAD knowledge, ideally CATIA
-
Good understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering materials, and GD&T
-
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
-
Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple departments

Comfortable managing several projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project
Desirable

Aerospace engineering or manufacturing experience

Experience using MRP systems

Knowledge of manual and CNC machining processes

Inspection and metrology experience

Composite manufacturing knowledge
