About
Sooner Station Senior Living of Norman is looking for full time and part time Certified Medication Aides for our community.
As the Care Giver/Medication Technician, your role includes providing hands-on care, administering medications, and offering physical and emotional support to residents while maintaining a safe and comfortable home-like environment.
Position highlights include:
- Status: Full time & part time
- Schedule: 7-3; 3-11; 11-7; Double weekends
- Location: 2803 24th Ave NW, Norman, OK 73069
- Rate of pay: Hourly
What you'll do:
- Provide compassionate care and supervision for assigned residents, assisting with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence, and safety.
- Administer and observe medications and treatments in accordance with the six rights of medication pass, documenting accurately and reporting concerns promptly.
- Monitor and record resident conditions, including changes in behavior, appetite, skin, and participation in activities.
- Engage residents in enrichment programs and life skills activities to support overall well-being.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in resident rooms, community areas, and medication/treatment spaces.
- Respond promptly to resident call bells and community security systems.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, supervisors, and healthcare staff regarding care needs and changes in condition.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, infection control protocols, and confidentiality policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Certified Nurse's Aide certification preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Previous experience working with seniors preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and demonstrate good judgment
