Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)
to support a defense program in
Tampa, Florida . In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and sustainment of
complex enterprise network systems
through the application of
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
principles and digital engineering practices. This position offers the opportunity to support
mission-critical capabilities

Position Overview The MBSE Engineer will support systems engineering activities across the lifecycle, developing and maintaining system models to enable architecture analysis, requirements traceability, and technical decision-making. The ideal candidate will have experience applying MBSE methodologies using
Cameo Systems Modeler
and
SysML v1
within defense or similarly complex technical environments. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance system models using
Cameo Systems Modeler
and MBSE methodologies. Create and manage
SysML v1
artifacts and diagrams including use case, activity, sequence, requirements, block definition, internal block, and state diagrams. Support
model development and diagram creation
to represent system architecture, behaviors, interfaces, and operational concepts. Apply systems engineering processes across the
full systems engineering lifecycle , including requirements analysis, architecture development, integration, verification, validation, and sustainment. Maintain requirements traceability between operational needs, system requirements, architecture products, and verification activities. Support implementation of
digital engineering concepts
to improve technical integration and decision making. Utilize
requirements management tools
to support development and change management activities. Participate in
configuration management
activities to maintain integrity of technical baselines and controlled system artifacts. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, program leadership, and stakeholders to support technical execution and delivery. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in
Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Management, or related STEM field . 1–3 years of systems engineering or MBSE experience
supporting defense, government, enterprise network, or complex technical environments. Experience with
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools . Hands-on experience with
Cameo Systems Modeler (required) . Experience developing models using
SysML v1 (required) . Knowledge of: Systems Engineering lifecycle Digital engineering concepts Requirements development and traceability Requirements management tools Configuration management principles Experience supporting
complex enterprise network systems
preferred. Active
Secret Clearance (minimum required) . Ability to work
onsite in Tampa, FL . Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Department of Defense programs. Familiarity with enterprise architecture or network modernization efforts. Exposure to Agile or iterative engineering environments. Desired Soft Skills Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to translate technical concepts across technical and non-technical audiences. Strong organizational and documentation discipline. Collaborative mindset with ability to work across integrated product teams. Proactive problem-solving and continuous learning orientation.
