We are looking for a talented WordPress Back-End Developer to join our growing team and help us build a scalable, secure, and high-performing educational platform.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and enhance the back-end of WordPress websites, focusing on custom functionality and integrations.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented PHP code to extend WordPress capabilities.
Implement and customize plugins, as well as develop custom plugins when necessary.
Optimize website performance, including database management, caching, and server-side optimizations.
Ensure website security by implementing best practices and staying updated on potential vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including debugging and optimizing code.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a WordPress Back-End Developer with a portfolio of custom-coded projects.
Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, including themes, plugins, and the WordPress REST API.
Experience with MySQL and complex database queries, optimizations, and management.
Familiarity with WordPress coding standards and best practices for security and performance.
Experience with APIs and third-party integrations, including custom API development.
Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git, in a collaborative development environment.
Desired Skills
Experience with server management, deployment, and hosting providers.
Understanding of SEO best practices and their impact on back-end development.
Familiarity with automated testing and continuous integration workflows.
Experience with WordPress multisite installations and large-scale projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience with WooCommerce and custom payment gateway integrations.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex tasks.
Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest web development technologies and best practices.
