The posted range for this position is $26.78 to $36.84 an hour. Wage is based on years of relevant experience in the field. PLEASE NOTE:
This is a remote position. Candidates will be required to have reliable broadband internet and personal cell phone service. Remote work may include working day-to-day operations during Pacific Standard business hours or online training. Also, our remote work opportunities are limited to specific states and we may not support remote work arrangements in the state where you reside. Position Summary
The
Coding Specialist
is primarily responsible for the coding and abstracting of all records including inpatient, ambulatory surgery and emergency room pertaining to patient's occasion of service. Standardized coding and classification systems, minimum data sets, data definitions and terminology will be utilized to ensure data is uniformly defined, collected, and verified. Also provides assistance to authorized users to furnish aggregate data and information needed for education, statistical, managerial, reimbursement and performance improvement activities. This role is for Inpatient Hospital coding including PCS coding. Position Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of coding experience in an acute care setting with at least one year inpatient coding is required. Must have ICD-10 CM and Procedure Coding System (PCS) experience. 3-5 years inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting preferably in facilities with complex, multiple specialty departments, preferred. Required Certifications (one Of Those Listed Below Is Required) CCS: Certified Coding Specialist by AHIMA; or CIC: Certified Inpatient Coder; or RHIT: Registered Health Information Technician by AHIMA.
