*Overview*
BC Passive House specializes in high-performance timber construction and energy-efficient Passive House buildings. The company delivers technically advanced residential and multi-unit developments requiring integrated planning, digital coordination, and structured project execution from design through construction completion.
*Position Summary*
BC Passive House is seeking a Construction Supervisor/Project Coordinator to coordinate and support construction projects from the planning phase through on-site execution to final acceptance and handover.
This position is primarily responsible for supervising carpentry and construction crews, coordinating site operations, ensuring compliance with construction plans and specifications, and maintaining project schedules and quality standards. The role also supports technical coordination by working with construction drawings and existing 3D timber construction models to ensure proper implementation. This is a permanent supervisory role essential to the company's ongoing timber construction operations.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of carpenters and construction workers engaged in timber construction projects
* Act as liaison between management, design professionals, subcontractors, and site personnel
* Coordinate internal project workflows, schedules, and resource planning
* Assist design and engineering teams with construction detailing and technical planning support
* Work with existing 3D timber construction models (CADwork or similar)
* Coordinate subcontractors and trades throughout all construction phases
* Supervise construction site operations and lead site teams in a foreman-level role
* Resolve work-related issues and coordinate corrective actions as required
* Assist in planning work sequences and coordinating material and labour requirements
* Ensure construction work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations
* Prepare and manage construction documentation, site reports, and change management
*Required Qualifications*
* Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, timber engineering, or a related field
* Formal vocational qualification in a construction trade (e.g., carpenter or similar)
* Minimum 3 years of experience in construction project coordination or project management
* Experience supervising construction activities or leading site teams
* Advanced knowledge of timber construction methods and building processes
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
* Ability to work with and interpret 3D construction models (CADwork or comparable timber design software)
* Understanding of constructive detailing and timber construction systems
* Experience with construction planning, cost control, and project documentation
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project)
* Strong organizational and communication skills
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Experience in Passive House or high-performance timber construction
* Experience in site supervision or foreman-level coordination
* Familiarity with BIM-based coordination processes
* International construction project experience
* Business fluent English
*Work Environment*
* Combination of office-based coordination and active construction site supervision
* Direct leadership of carpentry crews and coordination of construction activities
* Continuous involvement throughout the full project lifecycle from planning to handover
* Close collaboration with design, production, and site teams
