MoveOn is a political campaigning organization focused on mobilizing for progressive change.
Responsibilities People management
Directly manage the Volunteer Network Coordinator to nurture and expand the internal volunteer network infrastructure.
Monitor and report out on volunteer network health metrics and guide interventions where needed.
Identify gaps and risks in the community and partner with the Volunteer Network Director, Coordinator, and Organizing team members to address them.
Ensure members engaging in the volunteer network are upholding community norms and best practices.
Increase the organization’s capacity through community calls
Project manage and facilitate MoveOn’s monthly community calls, including launching and facilitating cross‑org project meetings, and project coordination.
Project manage and convene Volunteer Network‑wide monthly calls.
Work with the Volunteer Network Director and various program teams to identify call topics, develop objectives, create content, and facilitate.
Collaborate with relevant teams across the organization to make content across multiple platforms, such as Zoom and socials, to make sure it’s accessible to more audiences.
Work with Organizing team members to identify and create electoral content that informs and empowers people to take action.
Create and maintain volunteer‑facing materials for members and staff.
Keep a pulse on member feedback and share with internal stakeholders so that the organization is learning from and appropriately responding to its membership.
Nurture the Mobilizer community.
Nurture the Mobilizer community
Create and operationalize a re‑engagement strategy for the Mobilizer app, based on needs assessment.
Create a re‑engagement strategy and visioning for the community on the Mobilizer app.
Collaborate with Program Dept to absorb new members into the Mobilizer community after moments of high energy and activation in priority campaigns; proactively insert absorption flows into the election program and during high‑energy moments like No Kings to maximize how many action takers become Mobilizers and take regular action.
Monitor, report out on, and propose interventions for the overall health of the national Mobilizer community.
Job Requirements
2‑3 years of experience in designing and implementing equitable and accessible programming, preferably in a not‑for‑profit environment.
A minimum of 1 year of management experience.
Strong project management skills with experience leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives from planning through execution.
Experience facilitating large virtual spaces (e.g. Zoom calls, webinars, trainings, digital community spaces) and skilled in implementing and facilitating in‑person and remote learning experiences.
Experience conducting needs assessments and translating findings into effective programs, curricula, or resources.
Outstanding cross‑collaboration skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity.
Experience cultivating and managing vendor relationships.
Reports to: Volunteer Network Director
Location: The position may be based anywhere in the contiguous United States. May require occasional travel.
Salary and Benefits At MoveOn, we commit to equity in our compensation philosophy and practices. We are committed to equal pay for equal work. To counter systemic compensation issues, we have a non‑negotiable compensation practice. Our annual salary for this position is $106,634.15. In addition to the base salary, we offer a monthly home office subsidy, an internet and phone subsidy of $2,100 annually, and a health and wellness subsidy of $900 annually. All of these cash benefits are added to your bimonthly paycheck. We offer strong medical, dental, and vision benefits, which are free to employees and children of employees (spouses or domestic partners can be added at a subsidized rate). We offer employer‑paid premiums for life insurance; four weeks accrued paid vacation time per year, prorated for the period that you work; 18 weeks of paid parental leave (birth, adoption, foster care placement of a child), 10 days accrued paid sick time prorated for the period that you work; paid family medical leave; and 8 staff holidays and 6 floating holidays (annually). We also offer a $1,000 professional development budget each year for each staff member.
