About
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team. Our managers take on a player/coach role, balancing technical leadership, execution, and people management. The primary responsibility of Engineering Managers is to build and develop strong teams while ensuring high-impact results. We empower engineers to take ownership of problems and support them with mentorship, guidance, and business context.
Responsibilities
Drive team impact by fostering high technical productivity and reliability.
Cultivate a healthy, results-driven, and collaborative team culture.
Represent the team in engineering-wide planning, initiatives, and processes.
Partner with Product Managers and Designers to shape our technical roadmap and solve problems that improve the patient and doctor experience.
Set and communicate clear team objectives that align with Counterpart's company goals and roadmap.
Lead hiring, development, and retention efforts to build a high-performing team.
Qualifications
You have technical leadership experience managing teams of 3+ engineers.
You have a strong background in system design and proficiency in general-purpose programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, or Java.
You have a track record of leading development projects while creating opportunities for others to grow into leadership roles.
You have experience in fast-paced environments, making quick, strategic decisions under competing constraints.
You have a proven ability to successfully deliver complex web applications and services.
You are adaptable and able to work across various technical systems and concerns.

Salary Range A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $230,000. Final pay is based on several factors including but not limited to internal equity, market data, and the applicant’s education, work experience, certifications, etc.
