Software engineering roles at OptumCare focus on design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of software to deliver high-quality applications, products, and services. Roles involve translating business needs into technical solutions, driving architecture decisions, and contributing to product roadmaps while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities
Design, code, test, and debug applications and components that meet technical specifications and business requirements per assigned work items. Work closely with lead engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development. Collaborate with Business Analysts to develop requirements and assist with estimating. Instill best practices for software development and documentation, ensure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules. Translate business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions. Operational Excellence – build, deploy, monitor, and operate production services. Mentor other software engineers. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or related field and/or relevant experience will be considered. Experience with Domain Driven Design. Experience with Event Driven Architecture. Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines. Knowledge of Encryption, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), understanding of OWASP. Familiarity with GitOps principles (and tools like Flux or Argo CD). Familiarity with LeSS / Large Scale Scrum. Advanced understanding and ability to troubleshoot applications running within Kubernetes. Advanced understanding of cloud infrastructure and automated provisioning & configuration management. Basic understanding of networking and internet protocols. All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy. Compensation & Benefits
Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to salary, benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (eligibility requirements apply). Salary range for this role is $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment.
