About
The right person will be comfortable working on piping system modifications, performing engineering calculations, developing isometrics, and supporting design change packages in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform piping engineering calculations to support system design, modifications, and plant change activities
Analyze changes to existing power plants as well as new plant systems
Develop piping isometrics and related engineering design documents
Prepare design recommendations, technical specifications, and design change packages
Evaluate piping system layouts, supports, and modifications for constructability, operability, and code compliance
Support engineering assessments related to plant upgrades, retrofits, and system improvements
Work with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure piping designs integrate with broader plant systems
Review and interpret technical requirements, plant standards, and project criteria
Provide technical support during design development, document preparation, and implementation phases
Ensure work is completed in accordance with nuclear quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, BSME, required
5 to 15 years of piping engineering experience
Nuclear industry experience is required
Strong piping background with the ability to perform engineering calculations
Experience developing isometrics, specifications, and design change packages
Experience supporting modifications to existing power plants and engineering for new plant systems
Well versed in a variety of engineering and analysis software systems
Strong understanding of piping design principles, system analysis, and engineering documentation
Ability to work within a regulated engineering environment with high documentation standards
Preferred Background
Experience supporting plant modification and retrofit projects
Familiarity with nuclear design processes, engineering change procedures, and plant documentation requirements
Ability to provide practical design recommendations based on plant conditions and technical constraints
Strong communication and coordination skills across engineering disciplines
