Data Engineer
to join our Technology team. This role will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure and pipelines that power analytics, operational reporting, and strategic business decisions across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern data architecture, ELT frameworks, cloud-based data platforms, and database management, with the ability to support complex integrations across Salesforce, financial, and operational systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, scalability, governance, and accessibility of enterprise data while enabling high-quality business intelligence and executive reporting. Essential Functions Data Engineering & Architecture Design, develop, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using SQL, DBT, Airflow, or equivalent technologies. Build and optimize centralized data warehouse environments and semantic layers to support reporting and analytics initiatives. Integrate data across Salesforce, financial systems, operational platforms, APIs, and third-party applications. Develop and maintain automated workflows to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely data delivery. Database Administration & Optimization Administer and maintain relational database environments, ensuring high availability, performance, reliability, and security. Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and implement indexing and tuning strategies. Manage database backups, disaster recovery procedures, and user access controls. Data Modeling & Governance Design scalable and efficient data models aligned with operational and analytical business requirements. Establish and maintain data governance standards, lineage documentation, validation checks, and data quality controls. Partner with stakeholders to define KPI definitions and maintain consistency across reporting systems. Analytics Enablement & Reporting Support Support business intelligence initiatives through optimized datasets and reporting structures. Collaborate with analytics and business teams to develop Tableau dashboards and executive reporting solutions. Enable reporting across lending, servicing, operations, and capital markets functions, including pipeline performance, production metrics, DSCR, LTV, delinquency, and portfolio analytics. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Capital Markets, and Engineering teams to support strategic initiatives and operational scalability. Assist with system integrations, API connectivity, and enterprise data modernization efforts. Provide technical guidance and support for reporting automation and self-service analytics initiatives. Documentation & Enablement Maintain technical documentation for data architecture, pipelines, integrations, and governance standards. Support data literacy initiatives and assist end users with reporting tools and data accessibility. Competencies & Skills Advanced SQL expertise with strong experience in query optimization, data transformation, and relational database design. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or equivalent database technologies. Strong experience with DBT, Airflow, Fivetran, or similar modern ELT/ETL orchestration tools. Experience with cloud data platforms and infrastructure within AWS, Azure, or GCP environments. Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data processing tasks. Experience building and maintaining enterprise-scale data pipelines and warehouse environments. Familiarity with Salesforce data architecture and ingestion methodologies. Working knowledge of Tableau or other BI visualization platforms. Understanding of CI/CD workflows, Git version control, and software development best practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering, database administration, or analytics engineering roles. Experience building scalable enterprise data solutions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment preferred. Financial services, lending, or fintech industry experience is a plus.
