About the Role The Property Manager provides excellent service to our investors and becomes intimately familiar with the unique operating procedures of their portfolio. You will manage the resolution of complex, ever‑changing challenges; accurately manage expectations; and exercise extreme ownership in all aspects of the business, including leasing, R&M, resident services, and accounting. You’ll collaborate with other departments and act as a liaison between the investor and the Roofstock organization.
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio in accordance with investors’ changing goals and objectives
Provide excellent customer service at all times to our investors
Resolve complex problems as they arise and permanently resolve underlying issues to prevent recurrence while managing investor expectations
Systematically assess, organize, schedule, and execute tasks using proprietary technology and centralized teams of excellence
Proactively create tasks for Roofstock team members and follow up to ensure satisfactory completion
Build strong virtual relationships with all other Roofstock departments
Embrace innovation by testing software, processes, and organizational changes, providing actionable feedback in a spirit of continuous improvement
Discuss and cross‑sell Roofstock real‑estate products
Oversee Onsite Managers for properties with sixteen or more apartments, performing various on‑site tasks
Assist investors with the purchase/sale of income properties
Serve as a company representative in eviction‑related court hearings when required, appearing in person for contested cases, appeals, or legal requests
Qualifications
Active South Carolina Real Estate License
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience
3+ years experience in residential or commercial property management, or real‑estate operations (required)
Prior experience working directly with property ownership (plus)
Cost and revenue management experience (highly preferred)
Tech‑savvy and experienced with multiple property‑management softwares
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self‑driven and intrinsically motivated, able to prioritize and consistently meet deadlines
Thrives in a fast‑paced startup environment
Minimum 10% travel within the assigned area; additional travel may be required for training and off‑sites
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Location This position is classified as REMOTE based in Columbia, Greenville, or Myrtle Beach, SC.
Compensation $70,000 annual base salary. The position is eligible for a bonus based on achievement of performance objectives. Compensation may be adjusted based on experience, skills, and interview performance.
Pay Transparency Our compensation reflects several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position represents the expected salary. Ultimately, pay is based on location, job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and other job‑related factors. Roofstock is a total compensation company; the base salary is only part of the total package.
