Role Overview
This Cloud FinOps Analyst role empowers you to shape how cloud financial governance comes to life across WSP’s Azure environments. Your work will enable smarter spending, stronger forecasting, and meaningful cost accountability. You'll influence cloud strategy, guide leaders in optimizing investments, and help create a sustainable, future ready cloud ecosystem. Responsibilities
Manage and optimize financial operations within the Azure cloud environment, focusing on cost management, budgeting, and forecasting. Drive FinOps adoption and maturity by working with key stakeholders to embed financial/cost management (FinOps) practices into their day-to-day operations. Develop and enforce financial governance policies and procedures for Azure resources. Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain financial dashboards and reports. Implement cost-saving strategies and identify opportunities to maximize return on investment (ROI) for Azure services. Conduct in-depth cost analysis to identify cost drivers and areas for improvement. Assist in the development of financial models and scenarios to support strategic decision-making. Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies and regulatory requirements related to cloud spending. Provide training and support to team members on Azure cost management tools and best practices. Stay current with the latest Azure cost management tools, services, and industry trends. Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or experience in a related field. 1-3 years of relevant experience. Experience with Azure cost management tools. Strong understanding of cloud financial governance and best practices. Experience with public cloud financial components/concepts, e.g. cost & usage reports, reserved instances, savings plans, committed use discounts, enterprise discount programs, spot pricing, etc. Experience with financial reporting and dashboard tools, such as Power BI. Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, services, and pricing models. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on cost efficiency and optimization. Strong data analysis and reporting skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Azure Data Explorer (Kusto), SQL, Power Query/DAX, PowerShell. (Preferred) FinOps Certified Practitioner or relevant Azure certifications (e.g.: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure FinOps, Azure Cost Management). Love of technology, data and automation. Expected Salary (all locations): $67,600 - $111,650 WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
