Student Associate - Cashier (Work-Study)
This summer position (June 1 - August 15) is open to current UT Austin undergraduate students with work-study awards. This is a public-facing position at the Blanton Museum of Art selling admissions tickets, memberships, and parking vouchers all while providing exceptional customer service. Job duties include answering phones and helping museum visitors, members, and staff as needed.
Responsibilities- Process all types of ticket transactions for the museum including selling admissions tickets and museum memberships.
- Assist with daily accounting and cash-out reporting.
- Assist with volunteer supervision, answer telephones, and coordinate staff messages.
- Occasional data entry.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Interest in providing exceptional, outgoing customer service experience in a position that requires a high degree of accuracy.
- Interest in using ticketing system, cash register, and point of sale equipment.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft and Google suites.
- Ability to work weekends, with occasional additional evening events as needed.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- This is a work-study position for current UT Austin undergraduate students enrolled in summer 2026. UT Austin student applicants must have a work-study award and be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours total during the summer term(s). This can be met in a variety of ways, such as: 3 credit hours in the first summer term and 3 in the second term, or, any combination that totals at least 6 credit hours across the summer sessions.
$15.00 per hour
Working Conditions- Standard office environment; computer, register, POS system, cash handling
- Comfortable with sales and ongoing interactions with the public
- Extended periods seated; some outside and standing work during events
- Flexible: we will work with your class schedule
- Ability to work weekends, with occasional additional evening events as needed
- Working 2nd Saturday of every month is required
- Hours per week will not exceed 19
- Museum hours are Tuesday Friday 10am 5pm; Saturday 10am 8pm; Sunday 10am 5pm
