What is MongoDB

MongoDB is an open-source NoSQL database and a JSON document datastore, allowing users to store and query JSON-style documents.

It is written in C++ and was released in 2009. Though it does not possess the query power for analytical use, it is faster than traditional SQL databases when it comes to transactional stores. Its other advantages are that it works well in the cloud, and it is used by many companies worldwide. Because of this, it has the means to keep developing.

Additionally, it is easy to get started with MongoDB due to the large quantity of available documentation.
